Ask what the boundary is intended to control

A provider’s work-area plan should identify the actual tasks, materials, occupied areas, access and applicable controls. Ask what problem the proposed containment or equipment addresses and how its performance will be checked.

The airflow worksheet computes volume and an ACH assumption supplied by the user. It does not select a pressure relationship, exhaust route, filter, safe ACH or hazardous-material control. Keep its numerical output as a discussion aid only.

Name the interfaces with occupied space

• Which areas are work areas and which are excluded?
• How is authorized access arranged?
• Which equipment and air paths are proposed?
• Who establishes relevant worker and occupant controls?
• How will conditions be checked during work?

Keep the system responsibilities clear

If building HVAC, temporary equipment and restoration tasks are handled by different people, clarify how their scopes meet. Ask who can change operating settings and who authorizes return to normal use. Do not adjust affected equipment to achieve a number from a website calculator.

Workplace hazardous-substance duties are distinct from household general air-quality guidance. Alberta OHS requirements and competent project-specific planning apply to the responsible workplace parties.

Record the actual arrangement

Keep the agreed work boundary, equipment purpose, access instructions and verification records with the scope. If the area or task changes, ask how the plan is reassessed. A photograph of a machine should not substitute for its stated purpose and performance basis.
